block printing:

my block printed tea towel

Over the weekend I returned to the school, run by stylist Megan Morton (you may recall I visited earlier in the year) with my lovely mother and sister for some block printing action with textile designer Joanna Fowles. Using hand-made, wooden shapes, we printed geometric patterns on to beautiful linen napkins and tea towels. It was one of the most therapeutic and relaxing things I have done in a while, and could have easily just kept going all afternoon. On completion we all each had four napkins and a tea towel to take home and use. Too good.
Check out the School's website for upcoming classes and you must check out Joanna's online store, filled with her  STUNNING one off, hand made pieces.

the design files:

Well yesterday was rather exciting with our home being featured on the incredible Design Files! If you have wanted to see our place and how we have worked some of our travel souvenirs, head on over there and have a sticky beak.
A massive thanks to Lucy - the creative star behind TDF - she is amazing!
Also, while you are there be sure to check out The Design Files Open House which is happening in Melbourne Nov 29 - Dec 2, it's pure genius.

thirroul:

stanwell tops

Long weekends are for sleep-ins and surfing. And that's what we did this past weekend. We headed south for a change (we usually head north for some beach action), to a spot just outside of Thirroul, a lazy beach-side town. Andy surfed and I took some snaps, and it was perfect.
